Hoy ha sido el ultimo dia de regatas de flota en la bahía de Miami.Los mejores diez regatistas de cada categoría disputaran la medal race mañana a puntuación doble.

Rafa llega a esta prueba en 5º posición sin posibilidades de medalla y con pocos puntos de ventaja a sus perseguidores con lo que tendrá que pelear duro mañana si no quiere perder ningún puesto.

Hoy fue el día mas gris de Rafa,empezó con una salida prematura,que le hizo repetirla y empezar la regata con la penalización de tiempo que eso lleva.Solo pudo ser 18º, peor parcial de la semana.

En la 2º prueba otro  6º,que lo colocan de nuevo 5º en la general provisional.

Declaraciones de Rafa:

‘Hoy sin duda ha sido mi peor día,intente apurar la salida en la 1º manga del dia para entrar en la lucha por las medallas y falle.Tuve que repetir salida y empezar con retraso por lo que no pude remontar por encima del 18º.La 2º prueba fue algo mejor pero nada especial.Mañana en la Medal intentare despedirme con un buen parcial’.

Today was the last day of fleet racing in Miami and tomorrow the top ten sailors from each fleet will compete in the Medal Races. Rafa will arrive at the Finn medal race with no chance of a podium position and with 4 sailors very close behind in points so he will have to fight hard not to fall behind in the standings.

Today was probably one of the most difficult days for him as he started one race over the line early and had to return to the start making it very difficult to catch up to the leaders and finishing a disappointing 18^th place. His second race he finished 6^th which places him in 5^th overall.

Rafa commented:

“ Today was without a doubt my worst day, I tried to be aggressive on the start line in the first race to be able to fight for the medals but unfortunately it did not work out the way I had planned. I had to return to the start and was forced to play a game of catch up and was only able to get back to 18^th place. The second race was nothing special, tomorrow I will try and finish the event with a good medal race.”
