Hola!,
Desde que nos subimos al cajon en Palamos en diciembre del 2009 no había ganado una medalla en todo el 2010,se estaba haciendo muy largo y duro este año con la sensación de que siempre estábamos ahí pero nunca rematábamos la faena.
Hoy en Medemblik espero haber roto el maleficio y empezar a ver mas a menudo los resultados del duro trabajo realizado en Valencia con la ayuda de todas las personas de mi equipo.
Ha sido una medal race de infarto,como todas las de este año,con cambios de posición que afectaban a la clasificación general en cada paso de boya.
No empezamos bien,intentamos llevar al Ivan(Cro) lo mas atrás posible para poder pelear por el oro y casi vuelvo a perder todas la medallas.El americano montaba 1º y el ingles 2º rivales para el podium por lo que estaba 3º en la general tras la primera vuelta al recorrido de las tres previstas.Lejos de mejorar la segunda vuelta fue peor,había bajado al 5º en la general y 9º en la medal race,había que corregir los errores de las primeras vueltas y sobre todo pasar barcos, lo hice aun no se como del 9º al 5º en una ceñida para acabar 4º en la medal race tras pasar otro barco en la ultima popa y ganar la medalla de Plata tras el Croata Campeón de Europa Ivan Gaspic Kljakovic.

Since my last podium finish at Palamos in December 2009 I have not won another medal but today that finally changed. It has been a very hard and long year and I had the feeling that I was close but could never quite make it onto the podium.
Today it was nice to finally be able to show to all my supporters and my team back in Valencia that all the sacrifices and hard work are starting to pay off.
The medal race did not start well for me and but I was patient and waited for my opportunities and was able to make a move on the last upwind and finish fourth which was good enough for me to retain my silver medal position. I would like to thank Sebbe Godefroid, my coach this week, he did another fantastic job and I hope to be able to work with him again sometime soon.
Now it’s time for me to return to Valencia and begin another intensive training period and take advantage of the fantastic sailing conditions that Valencia has had in the last few weeks. Thank you for all your kind words of support this week.
